Not many government organizations can say this! The Township has no debt, has not raised its tax levy in more than eight years, is 100% funded for its pension obligations and has a healthy reserve. I am proud of Elk Grove Township’s long history of providing its residents with an ever-growing number of high-quality, valuable services while maintaining an impeccable record of fiscal responsibility. Contracting with outside organizations to serve our residents creates efficiency, avoids duplication, and allows us to stretch the tax dollars entrusted to us by the taxpayer. The Kenneth Young Center, The Northwest Community Hospital Mobile Dental Clinic, WINGS and PADS to Hope are among the agencies receiving support from the Township. In addition to these direct services, the Township provides indirect services through grants to organizations that provide local human services. Direct services include general and emergency financial assistance, senior and disabled bus transportation, family counseling, youth services and a food pantry. In this regard, essential direct and indirect human services are provided. Equally important is that the Township is a source of support for those in financial, medical and basic living needs. Every Township resident should be taking advantage of this tax assistance. Its a suburb built by the blue-collar workers in the industrial park paving. In this time of unending property tax increases, the Township’s taxpayer assistance services are invaluable and is one of the few sources of help for taxpayers seeking to appeal their property taxes or file for exemptions. Elk Grove Village holds a special place in our hearts because of its rich history. Today, the Township’s primary services are focused on residential property tax advocacy and essential human services. While the role of the Township has adjusted with the transition from a rural to a suburban community, it continues to play an integral role in enhancing the quality of life and wellbeing of its residents. Having grown up in a family deeply committed to Township government, I understand the value it brings to our community. I’m honored to be able to continue that tradition of service to our community. Over the years, members of my family have served as Elk Grove Township Supervisors, Clerks and Trustees. I am a lifelong resident of Elk Grove Township and my family has been involved in Township government since the 1800s. It is truly a privilege to serve as the Elk Grove Township Supervisor.
